…many years ago

This week, my high school announced the passing of English teacher, Hal Donnelly. Living on campus, students spent a lot of time with the faculty and they all proved to be influential. WRA included this photo in the memorial posting. That expression and that hair, that tie and that tumbling pile of papers-I suspect I had caught sight of the candid photographer. In retrospect, I received a remarkable education, but the years were difficult (as for everyone in high school). Also, yes, we had color photography when I was in high school.

Grateful to spend the day in the company of an old friend and raise a glass for Mother’s Day to grand mothers, mothers missed, and mothers experienced & freshly blessed. Near or distant, you’re in our thoughts and hearts. Then we went garden visiting, which seemed appropriate.

On Saturday morning, Strong Hospital unveiled the updated Gifts of Life Memorial Wall. The photo is from the ceremony beforehand when they showed the donors on the big screen. Please check the box on your license to be a donor and discuss with your family.

Twenty five years ago… a photo shoot arranged by Disney Adventures magazine in our back yard… “now prepare yourself while your mother places your gecko on your head.”

Annals of perusing stuff: The bottom half of this picture shows Aaron and Suzanne on our 2011 trip to India. The top half shows them standing in front of a Colorama print at the Eastman Museum in 2020.

That’s me on the left rocking the technicolor coat in Lexington. Let me stop you right there. I believe this was just how we dressed to set foot outside.

Annals of sorting papers- this is a keeper

– A card from my brother, Barry Veverka-Brownlie‘s family when Suzanne and I engaged. We lost Barry at the start of the summer. These reminders of him and Suzanne and their personalities.

Our weird bench (where no one ought to sit) has apparently become an altar where the squirrels bring their offerings to Autumn.
