Be grateful the nights are shorter in June because you’ll be up all night reading (and listening for ghosts or worse, if I’m honest)! Coming June 15 from Barrio Blues Press and Jesú Estrada! And you will get more cool art from Phrique!

Current reads! Poppy Z. Brite, David Grann, Cordwainer Smith and Peter Gay. I feel like I upped my bookmark game here. Also, you don’t often see extensive quotes of Mozart’s scatological humor, which would fill volumes on their own, apparently.

The sun is peeking out and Dr. John is singing Tipitina on shuffle play. It’s another week and these are my current reads from Liz Hand, Ian Rankin and Werther Dell’edera, Amanda Headlee, and Levitt/Dubner. Hopefully, a couple will be reviewed for Uncomfortably Dark Disciples this month.

On a day of emotional whiplash which I’ll blame on Kimya Dawson, Bob Dylan, How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, and Stonewall Kitchen (in no particular order), these are my current reads from Muriel Spark, Mignola/Fegredo, Stephen Kozeniewski – Author, and Stephen Jay Gould (this year’s spring training baseball book). Hopefully, a couple will be reviewed for Uncomfortably Dark Disciples this month.

A slew of photos from Authorcon. They don’t begin to capture the weekend, but it’s great to see all those old and new friends. Photos taken by Phrique, Nikolas P. Robinson, Betelgeus, Royal Poff, Joe Alec King, Cassandra Celia, and Katrina Nola Sirmons

All set up yesterday

While I cannot say I have my feet back under me, I can say I’m starting to read some of the many books we picked up in the past year (with review intentions), mostly looking at the shorter reads for now because I’m hip deep in Stephen Kozeniewski and Gavin Dillinger ridiculous epic Looney; I have been wearing my publisher hat very lightly and Five Raging Hearts is heading for an end of November release; and last night I started writing a new story for the first time in months, which is my way to hint at more to come…
